Why I Fear Shipping Valuables From India

My mother just sent me photos of a postcard I sent her and my father from Darjeeling about 3 weeks ago.  Here’s the back:

Comically, the USPS attached a note apologizing for any damage done to the mail.  I find this hilarious as there is a 1000% chance this was damaged in India.  Probably someone dropped it in a puddle for a week.

In conclusion, this is why I am alarmed about the idea of shipping anything valuable between India and anywhere.
